Our sound requirements:
A large diaphragm, side address, cardioid condenser microphone (we can provide an AT 4050, which requires 48v phantom power)
Two condenser instrument microphones for guitar and mandolin (we can provide 2 Røde NT5 condensers that require 48v phantom power)One microphone for the fiddle
One microphone for the bass, which will be wrapped in foam and positioned in the tailpiece
Two vocal microphones that allow the fiddle and mandolin players to talk
Our sound preferences:
We prefer to keep the vocals from the large diapraghm microphone out of the monitors so as to allow the it to be as hot as possible.
We prefer to use the monitors (especially monitor mix 1) mainly as a way for the band to hear the guitar and mandolin.
Where possible, we prefer to keep the overall monitor mix low.
